Chris Cowan

Hello! My name is Chris Cowan and I am from Toronto, Canada. I am 27 years old, and I am a painter and photographer. I am in Japan to study contemporary Japanese art and soak up as much Japanese culture as possible! I enjoy traveling, and have spent some time in Africa as well as Central America and the US. English has become the main language of travelers these days, and I find that I can make connections with people from all over the world using English. I have found that many Japanese people also love to travel, and studying English is a great way to prepare yourself for a trip to almost anywhere in the world! I know that studying language can be a lot of hard work, because I am trying to learn Japanese right now, but I also know that it can be a lot of fun! I will work hard to make learning English as enjoyable as possible, and I'm sure you will enjoy the benefits of being able to communicate with people from across the world! Gambate!

"The magic that u need there is all inside your head"...we just need to be born again, in a larger family, and with a new language...and that's why we choose English...

Jozef Jurko

Hello everyone. My name is Jozef Jurko and I am a PhD student in Natural disasters-Landslides at Kyoto University. I am turning 32 next year and seemingly starting to become a professional student. Ifve been here in Japan for nearly 3 years and at least 1 year and 6 months ahead me. I am happily married, and I still enjoy reading and listening to music, outdoors, taking photographs, traveling, discovering unknown places, and, of course, teaching and studying English. If you are still not decided whether to start or to improve your English I tell you something. I know how hard it is to study English as a second language, though it will truly satisfy your desire to be free. Even if you think you are too old to begin, Better late, than never. I am looking forward to our English language meetings in friendly atmosphere. I hope you will enjoy the meetings and that theyfll help you in your goal to improve your English.
Arianne Agustin

Hi there! I'm Arianne and I'm from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I'm twenty years old and I've been in Japan for five months. I've graduated from an art college majoring in Animation Art and Design. I'm addicted to Japanese culture, and watching anime and dorama are a few of my many past-times. I love reading manga, essays, short-stories, novels, and poetry. I enjoy listening to Japanese pop and R&B, Classical, Chamber music, Jazz, and Baroque. Some of my favorite Japanese artists are Angela Aki, K, Mr. Children, Ken Hirai, Gospellers, Quruli, and Keiko Matsui. I'm a huge fan of Johnnys too! I have a long list of favorite actors but it's way too long. I also like writing stories and poems, and drawing anime characters. Sometimes I will draw real people, but it does take time and a lot of work. I also enjoy Origami which, of course, like drawing and learning English, requires a great deal of patience and perseverance. I know how challenging it is to learn a foreign language. However, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. So let's take that first step and discover how much fun learning English can be.
Kiril Jerigin

Greetings to everyone, my name is Kiril Jerigin. I'm 26 years old . I live in Yodo in Fushimi . I've been living there for three years. There are four in my family- my wife, two boys, and me. I've been an english teacher for two and a half years, and it's the most rewarding job I've had so far. I enjoy teaching english a lot. In my free time I like drawing ( automotive design , mostly) , reading, and riding my motorcycle and scooter. I like japanese food. To everybody who is studying or going to study english, I want to say that english won't just merely allow you to speak your mind in different words. It'll give you a new way of thinking and understanding the world, make your mind sharper and more flexible, and , ofcourse, give you an opportunity to make friends from around the world. So try hard and enjoy!

Oh, and always wear your seatbelt..
